worst thing i have ever bought. even a toy would have at least some sense but this detector beeps at every thing. but to find out wood to hang my TV on the wall, ended up making 6 holes in my wall because this was beeping every time. I am not sure why B&Q have not taken it off from the shelves yet. seems like burnt my money into this.

Good detector and nearly 3 times cheaper than Bosh. Soon as you follow instructions and not cover 'sensor' with fingers its works absolutely fine.
Read the instructions. Sensor is on the back

I bought this recently having been very impressed with Magnusson socket sets. Initially I was completely frustrated as I did not calibrate it correctly. I also stupidly pointed the top of the sensor at objects, instead of using the plate on the back (clue: it’s stamped with SENSOR ;-). This caused all kinds of false readings as my hand was partially covering the sensor. Perhaps this is why there are so many bad reviews? Once these simple steps were followed, mine worked flawlessly.
Waste of money

I saw this in store. An impulse buy for a job in my daughters house. I wish I'd done my research first. All of the poor reviews are 100% accurate. This tool tells me that there are miles and miles of electrical wires and pipes in every single wall.
Beeps at everything

As soon as I put the battery in this thing it started intermittently beeping as thought it was detecting something, even when pointed at thin air. It beeped when pressed against any wall regardless of detection mode, making it useless for letting me know where I could drill. Swapped it for the similarly priced Bosch one which did the trick.
