Snapped shovel
Snapped one side of the shovel when you put weight on the shovel to push it into the ground on first use.

A great purchase. Excellent tool
What a terrific little (not so little) tool. I was digging a soak-away and drainage ditch and had been using a mattock and regular spade until I came across this sort of pointed shovel in a YouTube video. I honestly makes the job so much easier. I got it at just the right time. Very sturdy, comfortable to use, and gets right down into the ground and through small roots, where the regular shovel can't penetrate. Wish I'd had it for digging out a number of holes for new trees - would have made that a breeze as well.

Fantastic shovel

Great for digging through roots
My husband used this to dig out roots and stones from where a hedge had been removed. He loved the narrow blade and how sharp it was getting through the soil. He said he would never have achieved it with a conventional spade.
