long and blue, but not true

I purchased these to batten out a room in our turn of the 19th century house. I kind of expected them to be at least reasonably straight given the price, but things were far from true. While they were all the right length, out of the twenty I purchased, only around a third were straight and true. The rest suffered from twists and bends. (nothing a jointer couldn't solve - assuming I had a jointer. I found that a combination of 100mm screws and some high quality rawl plugs pulled them into shape, but it wasn't pretty. I think next time, I stump up extra cash and go for pre-planed timber.

Straight

Each one was straight which is pretty rare for this kind of product. Fair price too.
