Good, but loads of mushrooms

Like that it’s organic but it’s grown thousands of tiny mushrooms, which hasn’t happened with any other compost I’ve used.

Good compost with some downsides

This compost has been mainly used for aromatic herbs, such as thyme, lavender, basil, mint and rosemary. All the 4 bags were purchased at B&Q Greenwich, I've found them inside the store. They had a lot of other bags outdoor, in the garden area, and this isn't good in my opinion, as they were under sun and high temperature with no cover, all day long, everyday, which is not ideal for compost/soil. My bags were collected inside the store, hoping that they were stored indoor since the beginning. So far I've purchased 4 bags of these and it seems a good compost. Although the main downsides I've found are the following: - I've found many wood sticks and in every bag at least one piece of plastic, that could be like a shredded plastic film or literally a broken piece of about 0.5cm (one of this was purple!) - All my bags I've discovered they have fungus gnats in it, the little black flying bugs that sometimes flies but mostly of the time crawls in the soil. Use yellow sticky traps and/or cinnamon to keep them under control. They are not dangerous but they could eat the roots if they become too many. - This compost tends to agglomerate with several watering, especially on the bottom of the pot, becoming too heavy and not ideal for plant that needs air and breathing in the soil. I've amended this with 20-30% addition of perlite in the soil. Without perlite the soil was often too wet, especially at the bottom of the pot, and I had to water very carefully and far apart, which sometimes isn't ideal for plants. Use clay pebbles for drainage on the bottom of your pot, creating a layer of about 3-5cm and use pots with holes on the bottom. This will avoid your plants roots to rot, as happened to me. For the price I think it's a good product, with some caveats.
