The Mountfield SP185 self-propelled lawn mower is powered by the 139cc Stiga ST140 Autochoke OHV engine. The large 60-litre grass collector comes with a bag full warning indicator so you can see when it needs emptying. With the mulching plug fitted there is no need to collect the grass as it recycles the clippings onto the lawn for a natural fertiliser.

Excellent mower
I change my lawn mower for a self propelled one, wow! What a difference. It cuts the grass to the desired height as you can adjust the height of the mower. Good capacity to hold all the grass, light weight as it pushes its self around, easy to manoeuvre. Easy to clean, the grass collector is easy to get on & off. Automatic throttle so you don’t have to worry about adjusting anything, easy to add oil & petrol. Over all a fabulous mower, I’m very happy with it

Good Product
I bought this product last month to replace the same model previously after 8 years of good use no problems. This replacement does not have the manual choke, it does not fire up as quick as previous mower. Still works well though.

Bought a lawnmower.
I have had one of these lawnmowers for the past 6 years and I wanted to stay with the brand. As a woman this machine is effective, can deal with small gardens (the manoeuvrability is great due to the weight) and powerful enough to get through over grown grass. Has a mulching plug and folds down if you need to pack away in the shed or car. Only put 4 stars for price, as I always want to spend less money.

Mountfield mower
Bought this lawn mower as a replacement for our old mountfield, was disappointed with the handle set up, the two locking nuts , broke during the first use, preferred previous set up, lucky we could tighten and continue using but unable to fold the handles down, se be very careful using the butterfly type bolts made of plastic, other than that easy to start and operate

Super Mower
This mower is excellent. Motor driven so no effort when mowing the lawn. Highly recommend this make and model.

No issues
I bought this in April 22 - I did have to watch a YouTube video to put it together and particularly the grass collector (I see another reviewer hasn’t managed to fit it properly yet. When it’s fitted properly it doesn’t fall off or drag along the ground. I have a 200 ft long garden which isn’t particularly even ground and it’s not a big garden but it takes 30 mins to mow from start to finish if I’ve kept on top of it. I find the mower easy to start and have never had anything randomly fly off it. I have it drained at the end of the grass cutting season and get it serviced and blades sharpened in spring. All good.

Disappointed Gardner.
The clutch mechanism is useless, There is no smooth engagement, stop to full speed ahead with the slightest movement of the control bar. Very disappointed and will be happy to replace it after six months. It is also a very heavy weight and difficult to manouvere for for an 81year old.
