Perfect for my needs.
I tried rawl plugs to fit a door canopy but they were not very secure, so a friend suggested I used dowel instead. The dowel was the exact same measurement as the drill hole and the screw locked into the dowel to make a secure fitting.

Mixed quality
Bought four lengths of this. Be careful if you choose them yourself, as two of the four lengths had knots and nicks which detracted from the appearance of the finished construction.

Great length
I was very impressed by the reasonable price, the choice of diameters and extremely pleased that the dowelling came in such a long length: 240cm.
