Spot on stain coverage
Bought to cover water stains on the ceiling following leaks, and works spot on. Great coverage of stain, does leave the room dusty so one to watch out for. Good ventilation also recommended!

Did the job perfectly!
I needed to cover water stains on the ceiling, and on coving. I only had to spray it well once and it did the job perfectly. No second coat needed.

Covers stains well and everything else!
Used in the bathroom. Covered well and easy to use but covered everything with a fine layer of white dust. Glad I wore a mask and had good ventilation but it was still quite a strong smell. I would purchase again but would put dust sheets over everything first.

Poisonous
Used to cover wall stain. Induced headaches and asthma attack. All of furniture in kitchen left covered with thin layer of paint dust. Searching for help on google but so far polycell seems to have paid for top search results to downplay any such dangers

Excellent
Brought this to cover over a massive water stain and couldn’t believe how well it covered over the stain. It’s expensive but well worth the money

Excellent product
We had bought a house where the previously owner had painted knotted pine wood and all the knots had shown through, so using aerosol stain stop was a quick, easy and effective way to produce a great finished job. Fully recommend it.

Frustrating and disappointing
Bought to block in small grease stains left from blue tack on walls and ceiling. Took all appropriate measures to prep the surfaces and the stain, then used this stain block exactly as directed on the can. As a stain blocker it appeared to work very well, the grease spots were no longer visible on all the surfaces prepped for painting. The ceiling needed two coats of Polycell Crack free White Silk Emulsion to cover the stain blocker as it shined through the first layer. The walls however were a world of woe. After 3 coats of B&Q Silk, the stain blocker was still VERY visible as white marks through the layers of yellow paint. Admitting defeat I went back into store for some advice. They colour matched the B&Q paint to the Velspar Premium Blend V700 which was recommended to be the best coverage paint and sure to cover the blocker marks. It took a further two coats of this paint to cover the Polycell Stain Blocker. Not everyone has £ upon £ to throw as redecorating, and I was prepared to prep properly to ensure the best job was done on the budget available to me. Had I known it was going to cost me the best part of £50 on paint alone to cover the walls of this little 4.14 square metre room on account of this Polycell product, I’d have taken my chances with the original stains. A very disappointing and frustrating experience.
