You can apply this anti-bacterial worktop oil from Ronseal to , using a brush or cloth, to provide protection. It takes 24 hours to dry and will cover up to 10 m² per litre on average.

Awful… if I could give it 0 stars, I would
I bought this oil for our kitchen work top, followed the instructions down to the T and even left for a weekend to dry. Once we started using the worktop again it quickly showed us that we were wrong to ignore the negative reviews. It looks awful and we’re back to square one. Don’t bother spending your money or wasting your time using this product. It looked good for 5 minutes, but if you actually plan on using your worktop, I’d look elsewhere.

Awful stuff!
We bought this for wooden worktops and wouldn’t recommend to anybody. In total we did 6 coats, as we just kept going until the can was all gone. For the 1st day, any water droplets beaded and we thought we were onto a good thing, however once the oil was 100% dry, nothing beads and it is not easy to clean. We are now on the hunt for something better, but we are going to have to re-sand, as the wood that was beautifully smooth now feels rough too!

Don’t use this on your worktop
Spent all week sanding and the oiling my oak worktops in this. Beyond useless. Don’t use it. Surfaces are watermarked already and it’s got a weird rough Matt finish.

Waste of time, effort, and money
Have been applying coats of this every 24 hours, as directed, for 6 days. It simply does not seal against water, even very small amounts. When the current coat is dry I’ll be sanding it all off and trying again with a proper product. Surprised that a company like Ronseal would allow their name on a product as poor as this.

We do this twice a year to our kitchen bench tops and is easy to use and does the trick.

Great for kitchen table

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] normally use this Ronseal clear Matt varnish and it’s absolutely brilliant for sealing my wooden signs and give a smooth clear finish. On black ink it seals beautifully and dries incredibly fast literally minutes so it’s very handy to help finish signs when I’m short of time. Great product lasts ages and washes out of brushes well. Highly

Great product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have real wood worktop and it has seen better days. I gave the worktop a thorough clean and dry will clothes. I then lightly sanded down the surfaces and then clean again. I then applied the oil directly on top the worktop and spread it with an old micro fibre clothes. It looks amazing. I did 2 coats. I love this! Definitely recommend it. It does what it said on the tin.
