Reliable
I have used this product previously on the internal woodwork in my home. I didn't take me long to get the hang of it when first using it and now it always gives a reliable finish. My recent purchase was to 'refresh' some skirtings that only received one coat originally. Three coats give a good tough finish that withstands regular mopping with floor products. Sticky fingers and worse can be scrubbed off easily leaving the surface looking good. Dries quickly and goes a long way.

Ronseal does what it says on the tin
I bought this as it really dies what it says on the tin, on opening the varnish is a milky white but once dried which doesn't take long it has a very nice satin finish.

does what is says on the tin!
i bought this to revarnish to top of my TV cabinet. It now looks brand new and lovely. Its not the cheapest product but worth every penny. The varnish just like other Ronseal products applies well with good coverage and you get a fantastic final finish.

A perfect finish
The varnish worked perfectly on our stair handrails. It can be applied very easily and essentially no mess at all. It gave a good natural look and protected the natural color of the rail. Our friends were all amazed seeing such a perfect renovation.

Useless on a kitchen table
I am adding to the very low reviews for this varnish. Interestingly, I see better B&Q ratings for the 75ml of the same stuff – which was the amount in my tin, so I’ll be adding the same review there! I bought this in summer 2021, just reviewing now. It was to re-varnish kitchen cupboards and table. The table was previously done by me with solvent-based Ronseal about 15 years earlier. I sanded the old varnish and applied four coats (for toughness) over the course of two days and waited three further days for it to dry. It never seemed to properly harden, and even weeks later, items were sticking, pulling off the varnish or making it blister. I contacted Ronseal who blamed me for: (1) using wire wool to sand it between coats (nonsense – while this might cause rusting problems with water-based varnish if not properly removed, rust wasn’t the issue); (2) applying too many coats (seems highly unlikely, since it was allowed to dry in-between); and for putting items on the table which reacted to the varnish (so what would that be – cutlery and crockery?). They refunded a replacement tin of solvent-based varnish – which is, sadly, now quite hard to get hold of. I then found the water-based stuff couldn’t be sanded off because it just rolled up into little balls. I finally got it off with a heat-gun and replaced it with the solvent-based version, since when there have been absolutely no problems. I’ve just left the solvent-based on the cupboard doors, because they obviously don’t get items put on them.

First impressions are good but...
Sadly I chose this for all my oak veneer internal doors. Initially they looked good but with use the varnish has failed. In rooms such as cloakrooms, shower rooms etc the odd bit of splashing has penetrated the varnish leaving us with watermarks on the wood likewise there are greasy hand marks around the door handles which have penetrated the varnish and soaked into the wood. I will be using a solvent based product next time for greater durability.

still tacky after 6 weeks
I bought this to revarnish a table mainly because the description said "Diamond Hard". Sanded table down to base wood, cleaned "twice" with white spirit and left to dry overnight. Applied 3 coats varnish, 24 hours between coats with a light rubdown with fine sandpaper, and 6 weeks later its still tacky. Rubbish, now looking to strip it back and use proper varnish.
