Unhappy pumpkin floor - 1 / 5 - 29/10/2023
It’s 100% orange please don’t buy
This product was meant to be Medium Oak its pumpkin coloured. I have no idea how to fix this :( Extremely disappointing. Wish I’d read the reviews and not left the house whilst it was being applied.

Orange v Green
Yup, it’s orange! Bought the same colour interior varnish for the doors and they look green in comparison. Took it up with Ronseal and they’ve reimbursed me after a little wriggling!

It’s orange!
Please read the other reviews before purchasing. It’s not medium oak it’s a dreadful orange colour once dry. Floor is ruined and I’m going to have to get it sanded all over again. I’ve used this product before and it was a lovely oak colour. It seems like an issue that many others have had. I’ve contacted Ronseal directly but not had a response. Very disappointed.

Goes on almost orange
Dreadful colour that doesn't resemble the tin at all. Spent nearly a week sanding and prepping our stair case to stain. Chose this as colour as the rest of our house is a beautiful medium oak. So disappointed I actually cried, paid nearly £50 for 2.5litres and the stairs look absolutely dreadful they don't match the rest of the wood at all, not even close, the stairs are now basically orange.

Not at all the colour on the tin
We got this varnish for our floors, thinking it would be a nice looking 'medium oak' colour. but it turned out way more red toned than we could have ever anticipated and looks NOTHING like the front colour. Super disappointed.

Love this product
This is a great product. It dries quickly to a tough finish. You wash the brush in water. And it gives a good colour which evens out any imperfections. It's a bit pricey but it covers a lot and it's well worth the expense.

Great product, deceptive colour descriptions.
After spending weeks prepping the floor, researching products and colours, I chose this Ronseal medium oak. The application and finish are great but the colour bears so little resemblance to that illustrated I could cry. Far from a mellow warm shade I am faced with a very dark chestnut colour more reminiscent of a 'hides everything' pub floor. What to do with the remaining litre and a half, what to paint the staircase with that won't clash hideously and how to get more sun in to start the (hopefully!) fading process? Hugely disappointed.

Doesn't do what it says on the tin
Goes on reasonably well, as a previous review says ensure you take time on the first coat. I put 5 coats onto a sanded pine floor and it does have a rich colour but after approximately 5 months I will now have to re-paint the hallways and living room as its started to wear through to the bare wood. If your floors are anything other than perfectly level with no lumps, bumps or slightly raised edges on floorboards etc then it will begin to wear unevenly. For a product that calls itself 'Diamond Hard' and is formulated specifically for floors it doesn't live up to its name.

Great finish
Easy to use and gives a lovely Satin finish. Used on sanded pine floor boards this product gave a rich toned beautiful deep texture and brought out the wood grain well. Advice - take care with your first coat to getting it even and avoid leaving brush stokes, subsequent coats will not improve the first application. Easy to use, I re-coated and therefore was walking/sitting on the first coat after only two hours.
