More like varnish than oil
More like varnish than oil, and as per other reviews it is shiny, in fact it’s very shiny. My advice is to definitely try it on a trial area first. Not my best move because I just waded straight in. Also how the heck are you supposed to do this, as per the instructions -“Wait 15 minutes for the oil to penetrate the wood and remove any excess with a lint free cloth.” We had a large floor space to do and I would have left tacky, horrible foot prints if I had attempted Ronseal’s recommendation.

So annoyed
Spent all day sanding my floor to get it back to its lovely light original colour. Chose this because it said clear but the floor went really dark. It's also really shiny and varnished. Just looks horrid!

More a varnish than an oil
Re sealed all my engineered oak wood flooring a year ago. As per other reviewers experiences the floor came up slightly darker and shinier. However we were pleased with the finish and it still looks great. Didn't have any problems regarding patched drying and found it very easy to use, although you should try and do large areas fairly quickly and avoid going over areas that have started drying. Very happy with the finished product but as stated before its not really "Clear" and acts more like a light varnish. Have now done all our architraves to match.

POOR FINISH
The tin says clear but it goes a dark brown on application and like other reviews some areas are patchy dull and shiny. Would not recommend

Not good
I agree with other reviews, that it is more like a varnish than an oil. It is really hard to remove the excess. It also scuffs and scratches very easily, leaving really visible, unsightly marks. I wouldn’t us again.

It works.
Used this on a newly sanded floor, and it was simple to apply, a tin goes a long way, and the finish is stunning.

Overall, pretty good.
I have done about half of my solid oak floor with this and so far so good. My floor was looking pretty battered and this has bought it back to life and I am pleased with the result so far. However as with previous reviews I would agree it is more like varnish than oil, it is quite dark and my floor is several shades darker but it does look warmer. It is also quite shiny but is dulling down when completely dry. Make sure you rub of the excess after 15 minutes as advised otherwise it will take several hours to dry, i did not on my first plant was much better when I did. Not a quick job but done properly will be great.

Disapointing purchase
I laid a beautiful B& Q engineered oak floor with a matt finish I was very pleased with the result. I have since treated it with Ronseal Floor Oil and it has totally ruined the finish. The floor is streaky and patchy some of it dull and the rest shiny I am at a loss to know what to do to restore its original classic matt finish
