Fantastic paint

I bought an old French armoire in dire need of updating and painting. I used this paint which has covered the wood beautifully and my armoire looks stunning now. Great that you can paint over existing finishes as lots of intricate detail that would have been hard to remove precious finish.

I love this paint, so easy to use.

I bought this product for use in my kitchen, it’s been so easy to use and apply, it’s really lightened my kitchen up and looks clean and smart. Great coverage, brushes wash out easily, overall a great product.

Worth the money

Used two 750ml tins to upcycle a bedroom suite, under coated first, then two coats of colour, gave nice, rustic finish. Took the advice of previous reviewers, thinning slightly with water, then working quickly over small areas at a time.

Never buy this product

Never give this company your hard earned money for this absolutely terrible product. I wanted this to upcycle two old chairs which I didn't want to spend time sanding and undercoating, priming and varnishing etc. I have made many panited furniture pieces before. I did read the reviews on this brand of chalk based furniture paint and they are mixed but I was sure I wouldn't have any trouble. I am well used to painting. I am a very capable DIY'r before anyone thinks I am just an inept cretin who doesn't know one end of a paint brush from the other! I opened my paint and gave it a really good stir as it seemed reluctant to mix together. It took a good 5 minutes of mixing to get a smooth cream like texture that the tin lead me to believe I was to expect. The tin also said it would take an hour to be touch dry and ready for a second coat in 4 hours. THE TIN LIES! The paint is almost instantly dry which makes painting something like a chair difficult as you have to go over certain sections a few times to get all the angles covered. This tears the surface of the paint, which is super frustrating, I wanted to achieve a smooth finish to then decorate. The paint is also on the thin side so it runs easily. You would think this would mean you can apply nice thin layers but no think again, as previously mentioned the paint tears also when you try to apply thin layers, it simply doesn't want to spread. I ended up applying in thickly all over to try and get it spread on and smoothed out, catching any runs quickly to prevent the awful look of the torn paint. Then came the final issue with this paint, it does not self level. So yep you guessed it every brush mark is visible. Now I gave these chairs 4 coats, I tried using a roller for a coat. This was equally as awful to apply the paint. I even tried sanding the brush marks with fine sandpaper and using a varnish brush for the last coat and all I can say is each coat made the chairs look progressively worse for brush marks. In conclusion if you want your furniture to look like a complete cowboy painted it then by all means get this product. For myself I am absolutely furious that hours of careful painting have produced such an amateur looking result. I am going to strip the chairs and repaint with my tried and trusted latex based paint and then varnish. There are no short cuts if you want good results and this product that promises a quick result, no need for prep is a complete waste of time, effort and money. DO NOT BUY! If I could rate at zero I would!

Great for touch ups

I bought this as a touch up pot for my kitchen which I painted in this last year. I love the colour and the shabby chic look but if a little too much comes off I can just touch it up with this.

Lovely paint

Looks lovely when finished, I made a mistake of spreading too thinly first coat, it works better when applies generously, finished off with the wax it looks lovely
