- Shake the can vigorously for 1 minute after mixing ball begins to rattle and continue to shake regularly during use. Hold the can 30cm from surface and spray in a steady back and forth motion, slightly overlapping with each stroke. For best results, while spraying keep the can in motion and at the same distance from the surface. To create a distressed look, apply two coats of contrasting colours. Allow to dry and then lightly abrade with a damp Scotch-Brite pad or a stainless steel scourer. Abrade with the grain of wood. Protect the distressed effect with Rust-Oleum furniture finishing wax or Rust-Oleum furniture lacquer.

This product is terrible
I bought this product to spray lamp bases. The coverage was terrible and they turned out pale pink. They now need to be rubbed down and I will be looking for a better product. Total waste of money! I've done a lot of painting in my time so the result was not lack of experience.

Great coverage!
Up cycled some vases that I loved the shape of but not the colour. Only took two light coats and look fab! Love the colour so much have now up cycled other items as well.

Terrible result
Brought 2 cans to spray a TV unit. First went all crackly. Sanded back down and sprayed again and would not stick to the wood. Now have to buy new tv stand as worse than before.

Transformation
I used this to transform a dark wood fireplace surround. Cleaned wood with white spirit first. It took 3 coats of paint, taking a full tin for each coat. I would recommend wearing a dust mask as the spray gives off a lot of dust. Open the window as it is very pungent. Used low contact masking tape which was very good. Very pleased with the result.

A terrible finish
The finish of unusable for any type of furniture or door. It is so chalky that to touch it constantly produces white dust. The only thing you could do is apply a sealant after spraying once dried.

Great product needs to be sealed
Be aware chalk paint is not a paint and leave finish it has to be coated I used the matt laquer spray paint also available here. The end result was flawless as good as professional spray finish. See the piece of furniture I made and sprayed with it.

Really useless
The paint acted as though it had no stabilizers. I returned the second can.

Chalky
Expected it to dry so as the chalkiness didn't come off on hands, but it didn't. After 2 coats got even worse.
