Branches shredded to mulch
Easy to assemble, efficient, not too noisy. I look forward to reducing the piles of sticks and branches in my garden to a very useful mulch.

Works for me.
Bought this to replace my crusher type shredder as most of my cuttings are now thin branches and foliage. Though the Ryobi does pull soft stuff through and makes a good job of shredding it I'm finding I still need to add some woody material and use push-stick to help cuttings go through. Shredder isn't too heavy and is easy enough to move about on its wheels. Good length of cable supplied. Replacement blades readilly available at a fair price, though it should be possible to sharpen them. Ryobi has a decent capacity for shredded material and is easy enough to remove / empty. A little noisy but not excessive and less so than a petrol mower.

Excellent garden shredder
Excellent shredder for hedge cuttings and other plant materials. Easy to operate and it doesn't get jammed. Can cut stems / branches up to 45mm in diameter. Highly recommended!

Shredding made easy
The RYOBI replaces a 30 year old Al Ko model. It’s a lot more powerful, just as noisy though so ear defenders are essential. Also wear gloves as bigger branches are pulled into the machine with some force. The cutting blades can be reversed so effectively double the life out of them. Replacement is straightforward and spares are cheap and easy to obtain. Only used 20mm branches do far but shredded them well. I agree with Other reviewers that the push handle is a bit awkward but the AlKo was just the same. The RYOBI has flaps half way down the feeding chute so chips don’t fly out like the AlKo. Produces really fine shreddings which rot down really quickly. When blended with green waste and shredded cardboard the result is superb compost which needs little if any sieving

Excellent shredder.
Big solid shredder. Cuts branches very well, leaving them fine enough for the compost heap. Much more sturdy than previous shedders I’ve had.
