Good product

Its a good product that does a good job . My only problem is that if you don't use within a couple of months of purchase , although in sealed bags , it goes off . I think that should be made clearer

Product is easy to use and looks great once set

I recently jet washed my patio and cleared out the old grouting. I needed to renew the grout so I purchased this product from B&Q. I found it easy to use and it set in a couple of days leaving a great finish.

Not useable

Inside the tub you have x2 sealed bags of this compound. Opened one yesterday to use on my patio however found it very difficult to use as most of the mixture was semi solid and needed to be broken up into scoops. Ended up giving up on my project. Not sure if it’s a bad batch

Ok for very small area

Bought today, easy application but if grouting an average patio would be better off mixing sand and cement with some matching dye, this product is expensive and slow to set

Giving off headache-inducing fumes two moths on

This is awful stuff. The fumes that come off it while you’re using it are very strong and two months in, they are still being produced and I cannot sit on the patio where I used the product without getting a headache. It also gives off a strong chemical smell which has still not dissipated. It’s is hard to work with and sticks to gloves, and anything else, leaving an oily residue which is hard to wash off. It is also still producing a black gritty dust that trails in the house. Don’t use this toxic substance. Use a regular sand and cement mix. I wish we had.

Easy to use but need a lot more than stated

Let me start by saying I’m a woman in my 40’s who has never attempted anything like a patio before. Our patio is about 45 square metres and has been down for a number of years now, but the old jointing had disintegrated and was full of weeds. I dug all the weeds down and pressure washed all the joints out so I was starting with a clean surface. I found this product easy to use one I got to grips with it. The first bag I used in the furthest corner in case I made a bit of a hash of it but even that was fine, but it definitely became easier to ‘master’ the more bags I used. I found that using my hand (with gloves) to press it down into the joints was the easiest way. The weather has been warm so it set pretty quickly and seems solid all round. I just need to give it all another good sweep over as I found it pretty difficult to get rid of the residue. Be careful to wear gloves - first time I used it I thought I’d be fine without but some of the particles are so sharp I ended up with lots of tiny splinters in my hands from it. Lesson learnt! I was a bit worried that some of the bags would be “gone off” after reading lots of reviews about the bags being solid, but apart from one bag having a huge lump in the bottom they were all fine (and I used 15 bags). Which brings me onto my next point. Unless your patio has tiny joints you will be needing a lot more of this product than the guidelines would suggest. I should have needed 2.5 tubs based on the 18sq metres guide but I actually needed 7.5 tubs! A huge different in cost if you haven’t budgeted for that and it did make the job a heck of a lot more expensive than predicted. Overall I’m pleased with how easy it was to use, how it looks now it’s done and the finished result. I would recommend.

Sika fast fix

East to lay, but left some marks on the slabs which will hopefully disappear over time.

Sika Fastfix Jointing Compound

A few lumps in the back but no major issue. Relatively easy application but too early to tell if grout is durable
