Wasn’t expecting to find hardwood here!
Having phoned around various timber yards with no joy, I was surprised to see that B&Q sold this! with any strip wood, you need to choose your piece wisely as many were warped, twisted or split, but I got a few nice pieces to finish off my bannisters to go under the base rail.
