AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS

All lengths were cupped, bowed and twisted. Pay a bit more and use a timber merchant, it will work out cheaper.

Rubbish quality timber - avoid

avoid this timber, bought a pack to use for replacement floorboard. after letting the timber rest to acclimatise, the boards still twisted and buckled. very poor quality wood. the timber was stored upright inside the store which attributes to the issues. Avoid buying timber from BnQ and go to a proper timber or builders merchants.

Smooth Planed Timber (T)18mm (W)94mm (L)2400mm

Well prepared planed timber - low number of knots and really accurately sized as you would expect in the 21st century. Not bargain-priced but good quality and the would purchase again.

Warped or bowed

Daughter bought an 8 pack for surround to sliding wardrobe doors I was fitting for her. Out of the 8 only two were reasonably true, the rest were twisted by up to 3/8"" in the length, if you need straight timber buy singles and then you can pick and choose.

Just aweful

I use this size timber every single day in my work. I used to shop at b&q as it was most local. I now go elsewhere as this timber is so badly warped, it is only good for firewood. Out of a pack, you will be lucky to find one true length. Take my advice and dont waste your time or money.

Quite straight

I bought this pack as I have to build 2 new side gates. Being bundled together you have little idea how straight the individual pieces will be but, when separated, they were not too bad. Quite a few knots but you'd expect that. Overall OK and home delivery saved me a 90 mile round trip.

More knots than a fishermans net

no wonder it is available only on line, would not have chosen it in store for finish work as advertised. Cheap softwood with a high concentration of knots giving weak points for jointing and screwing along leading edges

Warped and twisted

All the pieces I bought had a significant curve to them in cross-section and were twisted along their length. This is most likely due to being dried too fast.

Too many warped lengths!

The problem with buying multipack timber is that it is a bit of a gamble. Normally this wood is good and finding straight pieces isnt a problem, but in this last batch I received the warping was horrendous (a lot of serious cupping and twisting). Had to reject at least half of the strips as unusable for my intended purposes. Buyer beware.

Needs careful selection

I bought this timber to construct a framework for some sliding door wardrobes. Whilst the timber is in the shrink wrap it looks and is, straight. However, if you are buying it for a construction that needs reasonably straight timber then use it immediately you remove the shrink wrap as in a temperature different to the inside of the B & Q timber store (which is generally quite cold!) the wood will quickly twist or warp rendering it pretty useless for accurate work. Having said that, out of each pack I managed to select sufficient straight planks to complete the job, just have a care! Working the timber is not a problem, it cuts easily with a sharp saw as does most timber!
