Poor mechanism.

This has a poor mechanism, once it goes off,one of the springs dislodges and doesn't always reset very well. I've had 2 of these and both have failed where there's a problem with resetting the trap.

Rat trap

I needed to get rid of a few pesky rats. Super effective, now i keep it set just in case but seems to have done the job.

Seems decent

Looks the part, but still to catch our elusive rat

Can Be Difficult to Set

I bought two of these traps and found there to be no friction between the tip of the holding bar and the plastic trip plate. The powerful hammer tripping was so sensitive that I couldn't even put the trap down on a surface without it going off. I've had the mousetrap versions previously with no issue, so assume this is a faulty batch.

This product is impossible to set

I bought this rat trap but was impossible to set the spring mechanism is too powerful the only thing it did catch was my fingers avoid unless you like pain.

PaulRob84 - 1 / 5 - 06/12/2023

Waste of money

More chance loosing a finger than catching a rat, nearly impossible to set without it going off as the tray system wont catch on the locking bar.

bob2890 - 3 / 5 - 30/07/2023

Good, but with one glaring weakness.

Effective traditional trap that works, however the bait flap is flimsy plastic that soon breaks off where it attaches to hoop, also these types of traps often need fine tuning, cant fine tune these because the metal stay snaps when you want to alter the tip with pliers. Good, but could be so much better imo.

Bait pad ineffective

The bait pad (trigger) on this trap does not hold any attraction for rodents. I set the traps up in my garage due to rodent signs and none were activated over three days. I then changed the types of trap, used a bait (peanut butter) and the next day two rats were caught. The trigger is overly sensitive making it a challenge if you want to place the trap in a semi confined area near a rodent pathway/ingress point.

Did the Job

We had a problem with a rat coming into the garden during the day, so I purchased the trap and I added a bit of peanut butter to the bait as well, problem sorted excellent result, just be very careful where your fingers are when loading for obvious reasons.
