Safety Information
Wear appropriate PPE including cut-resistant gloves, eye protection and dust mask when cutting or trimming cavity closers
Use safe manual handling techniques when lifting and transporting 2.4m lengths to avoid strain or injury.
Cut products using sharp, suitable tools in a well-ventilated area to minimise dust and airborne particles
Keep work areas clear of offcuts and dispose of waste materials in accordance with local site and environmental regulations.
Inspect products before installation and do not use damaged or distorted cavity closers.
Ensure minimum 30mm overlap between window/door frame and cavity closer in accordance with BRE guidance.
Fix cavity closers securely using recommended fixings to prevent movement during installation and service life
Cavity insulation must butt tightly against the closer to maintain continuous thermal performance and prevent cold bridging.
Verify cavity dimensions before installation and select the correct profile for cavity widths up to 150mm.
Install in accordance with NHBC standards, Approved Documents C, L1 & L2, and relevant British Standards.
