Wonderful

Had never used before so was a bit nervous, but the paint went on so well, great covering dried quickly. Second coat went on the same , when finished my old yellow radiator looked like new.Would highly recommended.

Worth every penny

Quality product that covers uniformly, however do not overload your brush/roller because this paint will run like an Olympic athlete if you do. Dry's quickly and does not appear to peel or yellow when subjected to high temperatures, quite expensive but at this stage it seems to be worth every penny. Good delivery timeframe from B & Q also.

Absolutely wonderful product

Did what it said it would covered a very old radiator and has made it look like new with little effort and still got loads left to do all my radiators! Absolutely delighted

Some points before starting

I bought this paint and used it this month and some extra points need to be considered before starting. The application of the paint requires some more instructions. It says on the outside cover that it needs to be applied at room temperature ie, to an unheated radiator. For this reason I needed to shut the radiator down. This is a 6 year old radiator that has been on full power all the time the heating system is in operation and the thermostat and valve had never been moved and were fused into the one position. As a result I needed either a new thermostat or a new valve which shuts the water flow off when the thermostat is regulated down to ‘0’. This would have meant buying a new thermostat and a new regulator as well as employing a plumber to fit it all. You need to bear this in mind when using this paint for a radiator. However, I managed to fix it myself. Some radiators are installed without a thermostat, eg, those adjacent to the CH control thermostat which determines the temperature of the whole house. If you want to paint one of these you will need to get a plumber to fit the necessary valve and then work out some manual system to keep the house temperature stable. The next thing to bear in mind is that this radiator cannot be used for 2 days until the heat can be brought back gradually for 20 days when it can be at full heat. You have to therefore employ additional heating until this point. I used an electric heater (additional cost if you don’t own one already) but be careful when the room is not continually habited especially if you have pets, children or frail elderly relatives who might trip on the wire. It can’t be left unattended like the CH radiator can. Bear in mind the 6 to 12 hour rule after the first coat before a second can be applied. I put the first on early morning and second late afternoon. You can apply a third coat but the time after the second coat is not mentioned, I left it 12 hours, seems to be OK. Otherwise the finished paint looks good, only time will see whether it looks good after a year.
