I love valspa paint .. we find the Application and coverage great and the finish is perfect! With the added bonus of being washable in our home that’s super important when choosing a paint and so far valspa has been amazing!!

Valspara trade Matt paunt

Poor, waste of money . No quality and looks cheap and nasty when dry.

A quality paint, if you know what you are doing.

I purchased two 2.5Ltr cans for my project (Lounge) with the unfortunate name 'cabbage Juice' . Following the advice on the tin I attempted to apply by roller, using a brush to cut in. It was a warm day and the paint was going on to previously emulsioned walls. This trade paint is very thick, and dried so quick that one could not 'lay off' the paint to achieve a decent finish. The instructions on the tin say not to 'thin' the emulsion, so I really couldnt proceed. A quick email to velspar customer service explaining my situation, was answered very quickly with lots of helpfull advice and a voucher for Velspar primer worth £28, and I was decorating again. To ease application of this emulsion, water CAN be added but no more than 10%. This was really necessary on the hot days that we have had. I really did need to use the primer (something I have never thought of when changing colours on a wall) and 'ease' the emulsion with 10% water to achieve a good finish. It still only needed two coats plus the coat of primer and I was done. So thanks to B&Q for my paint, Velspar for advice and my wife for all the cups of tea.

Good Standard Paint

I bought this as a basic white to paint over the hideous magnolia all over our newly bought house and it did the job - took a few coats, more than I thought, but it was a smooth finish and easy to clean off brushes.
