Valspar® Trade Primer & Undercoat features advanced water-based technology that is quick drying and low in odour, providing strong adhesion of the top coat for a high-quality finish on interior walls & ceilings. Use white primer for reliable build and obliteration. Valspar® Trade - formulated for the perfect finish.

  • Brush, roller or spray application
  • Instructions for Use - Stir well before use to ensure paint is thoroughly mixed. Purchase enough paint to complete the job. Apply 1–2 coats using a suitable brush, roller or sprayer. Apply liberally, avoiding excessive rolling or brushing, working from dry areas into the paint’s wet edge. Extra coats may be required when making dramatic colour changes. Dries to touch in about 1 hour under normal conditions. Allow 2-4 hours between coats.

Rubbish paint

Do not buy !! Seems fine at first but when trying to use it again after a few days it had all separated,pay the extra money on Dulux trade primer instead

Reasonably priced - does a good job

I've bought several of these, they work well and provide a good surface to put gloss/satinwood on.

Inconsistent batches

Bought 1 pot, fine, did as expected. Bought another pot, terrible. 3 coats and still looks like I cheaped out and watered it down. Now have to buy a 3rd but definitely not this stuff.

Good Primer

Used to prime MDF after a coat of PVA and covered very well.

avoid!!!

I have never used a paimt product as bad as this. I will get a refund but ive lost two days on this product. Thin, drips and dries so quick that you cant brush out the excess paint. Why on earth is this produc even beimg sold. Ive tried lotts of ways to apply it but my god it is too much work to get a smooth finish. The best i could do left the woodwork surface rougher than the bare wood. Its counter productive. Im beyond annoyed this is being sold as trade paimt and at the price it is.

Excellent for metal

Used for a radiator primer with Valspar metal paint. It was blue for felt quite daring for a radiator. The colour glided on and looks very flawless, the primer definitely helped with the metal.

Trust Valspar

I've been using Valspar for internal and external diy for years. It goes on superbly by either roller or brush, good color density too. This undercoat was selected to tackle an awkward stained windowsill. It did the job perfectly leaving a really professional finish. Two coats needed as expected because of the stain color, and no hesitation in recommending this product.

Poor outcome

Transparent. At least 2 coats required on prep'd, old white painted woodwork. Will not buy again.
