Great performance vs cost
I bought this to replace 4 fence posts along with a post shovel. Ended up returning the post shovels because the Auger did the work I needed. I've also used it for gardening, to help remove plants, and plant new ones. The Large handle leverage makes drilling easy and the "corkscrew" drills quickly through soil once started. I would buy again, considering the ease and performance, and the cost.

Need a child’s version
I bought this to help with putting in an aerial washing line and churning weedy beds. Tough tool and well made. My only difficulty is my height. To use it to full effect I need to press down on it and that means I need to be above it and can’t do that at 5 foot! Managed the aerial washing line as I was on a patio which was higher. Will sort out a safe platform to give me the extra height for doing the beds. Good price.

Rubbish
This is an honest review of this item. It is not fit for purpose. The one I purchased was just taking ever more to remove the soil and yes I was pressing down while turning the handle. Looking at the edge of the spiral it is not sharp. My previous hole digger was made by Draper and no issues what so ever, until it disappeared. Will be returning to B and Q for a refund.

Auger
I bought this product to dig vertical drainage holes in a lawn, it worked well, even though the ground had large stones in which hinded progress, I would certainly recommend it especially at the price it is.
