Please Do not use
This product is an absolute nightmare.Ruined my worktops and B&Q put on a good show of caring but after a long back and forth let the manufacturer give me a lecture about sanding down , room temperatures , cleaning regimes etc. you would need a physics degree to apply the stuff. Result - I’ve got to pay for all my worktops to be sanded down and refinished by a professional- at my own expense. Caveat Emptor !!!!!

change in formulation?
My worktops were installed 8 years ago and the installer used Woca oil. Since then I have applied this oil over the years successfully until the tin ran out. I purchased this one this week and can only conclude that the formulation has changed. Interestingly, B & Q now market this as a satin finish which is telling. The original oil would take approx 3 days to dry but fully soak into the wood leaving no residue and natural looking wood. Despite the same preparation, this oil does indeed leave an uneven and as a previous reviewer has stated a 'pva glue type' finish. Disappointing.

Used for 8 years in Kitchen
I have oak block worktops in my kitchen. I was advised to use this product to protect and maintain them. I haven't used it as often as I should and I'm sure my worktops have suffered for that, but they have survived pretty well despite my negligence and I think that is due to this product. It is a bit of a faff to use (clean, 8hrs drying, apply, wipe off excess after 20 mins & finally buff) but it does work and whilst sometimes I do get small patches that seem damp and maybe mildly sticky I just wipe/buff them then get on with life. Not had any real issues.

Great product
I was concerned when I saw the bad reviews but if the product is used correctly and you follow the instructions it’s a great product. My worktops look great and aren’t sticky at all

Great product
Got the maintenance fit with our new kitchen and worktops from B&Q. I was rather nervous to use it after seeing so many bad reviews, however it worked perfectly. I applied thinly with a paintbrush, left for 20 minutes and then wiped away excess with a lint free cloth. Did not leave any sticky residue. I will definitely continue to use this product.

A great professional product
This came with our kitchen . Following the instructions, applying as required has left our worktops as good as new every time . Absolutely believe the issue is with the application not the product .

Professional grade product at a good price
Pleasantly surprised to see B&Q stock this as is quite specialist. Even more surprised to see negative reviews. I've used this several times and gives a great result. Natural oil gives quite a rich colour depending on your timber so I prefer the white version. Follow the instructions and make sure you remove all of the product and you'll be fine!

great product when used properly
I really don't understand what the issue is with this oil. 1. Clean work surface and allow to dry 2. Stir oil and apply to worktop with paintbrush 3. Leave for 20 minutes (don't know why people have been leaving for hours or days!) 4. Sand with a fine grit paper - I use wet and dry - moving with the grain 5. Wipe off excess oil using lint free cloths - I use microfibre ones 6. Buff I do my worktop one day and my island the next. Takes no more than a couple of hours for each. I love this oil and, when used correctly, it gives a rich, silky finish.
