Poor quality
The plunge was stiff and juddery from day one and the depth stop bar seems to have no bearing on what occurs, but is also made of plastic which means it's very easy to overtighten the stop and press into the bar. Very expensive paperweight. I will be looking out for a quality router and I don't know what I'll do with this.

A fab adaptable tool for beginners
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fantastic beginner tool for projects involving edging, gouging out gaps and creating joints . Never used one before but was keen to have a go. I found the the precision using the guard not so great when attempting a straight line however with practice this did improve , I did however find it better without using the guide . The product has plenty of attachments and is designed to easily adapt the depth you are routing. The best use for this tool I found was creating beautiful smooth decorative edging to timber pieces . Excellent for framing and upcycling embellishment . There is a guide to settings depending on the wood you are using which is helpful . Overall the product is sturdy , easy to use and fun to create with. The compact design means it will not take up a huge amount of space and it is portable to work work in different environments.

Good quality tools
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The information provided to set up is in depth and allows set up to be done properly and safely. It made set up to be very easy and was very simple to adjust the depth and speed setting. I used it to cut joints in my kitchen work top and it made it very easy to complete my task. It is powerful and works very well for the different woods I have worked with. Very strong and stable machine and makes jobs very easy. It is accurate and can be used for so many different tasks. The ergonomic design makes use comfortable. The safety features allow safe use. It is noisy when in use but to be honest that is expected and it isn’t overly noisy compared to ones I have used from different well known brands. It is compact which makes it easy to store with the rest of my tools. You get your moneys worth with this product. This brand has never failed me.

Great router
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this router perfect for the job when creating channels beneath a floating shelf for LED strips. It was straight forward to set up and I was able to easily make accurate depth adjustments. I was pleased with the power and how it made light work allowing me to complete my cuts in one pass. I have also used the router to cut joints in my kitchen worktop - again it was up for the task. I used the depth adjustments to complete the cuts in 3 passes and washcloth cut was crisp and accurate. All in all a very sturdy and versatile piece of kit.

More powerful than our old one.

It is a powerful model compared to others, we’re replacing a black and decker one, and this one had half the power of our new one. Thank you.

Ok for a budget range

Tough, sturdy & reliable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been testing the 1200W 220-240V Corded Fixed Router MR1200 from Mac Allister. It's a fixed base router, so it does not plunge; I find this best for when I need a precision cut and have used this in conjunction with my router table. The instructions are very comprehensive, and this is necessary as it's really important to set it up correctly from a safety perspective. The only thing it doesn't come with are the router bits, so you have to supply them separately. Everything else is there, including a dust extraction tube, parallel guide, spanner & a depth guide (inbuilt). The safety gas is already attached, and there's a spindle lock that allows you to change router bits with ease. It is noisy, but that's to be expected; the speed can, however, be adjusted. I like that it's compact in size and easy to store when not in use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a brilliant tool, I struggle to get the perfect cut when it comes to flooring and skirting boards, especially around pipes and other bits, they’re usually bulky cuts that stand out and look horrible but with this I can cut a nice snug shape to fit perfectly!
