build buddy mixer - very good
Trawled the internet for a mixer - price against quality drove me to the 300 poundmark. There were on cheap internet flea-bay ones. Landed on the b and q one. Slightlymore expensive but, build quality solid exceptional, good instructions and did the job no problem mixed several loads of mortar with ease.

Great for DIY but not a pro machine
I finally gave in and brought a mixer as hiring one is not really cost effective and I have a few projects to do over the 'summer' I looked at second-hand mixers and they are expensive and you don't know what you are buying and you have no rights to return if they go wrong. I have seen some reviews saying 'should have brought a belle', which if you want to use daily with loads of mixes I would agreed. You get what you pay for . If this mixer was as good as a belle then belle would go out of business! A belle is for daily use mixing large quantities, and in my experience they do overheat . The build buddy is a great little mixer if you look after it. It takes about 40 minutes to put it together. Ensure you grease the drum spindle In operation just make sure you start only when it is empty or has water in it . Then add your cement and ballast/sand and once mixed empty load into wheel barrel without turning it off. If you stop it, you need to empty the drum before you restart it. Make sure you don't overload it, I found 12.5kg cement to 60kg ballast was about the most I was happy to mix in it. I also cleaned the drum with water spray every load to stop it clagging up . I managed to mix 2 jumbo bags of ballast with no issues, turning the mixer off between load. The Gearbox and motor do get warm. I suspect if you do hammer these mixers and they overheat that it will cause damage . As I said it was ideal for smaller DIY projects, if you want larger quantities get a belle or have cement lorry delivery instead

My new toy!
So pleased with my mixer, can't believe how good and clear the instructions were. I was dreading making it up but managed in just over an hour and I'm an 8stone 67 year old!

You could mix cement during a funeral
This machine is so quiet. Effortless and strong. Easy to assemble. I Used copper grease on some parts as to improve longevity, as I will be using a lot over the years to come. I have used a lot of different mixers over the years. All peteol. This electric version is a really great machine for the price.

Great mixer
Had this mixer for 4 years. Used most days, Never played up once! Easily enough to put together on your own also. I see some reviews about the drum making funny noises after a while from new.... remember to grease up the drum spindle when assembling.

Very good for the price!
Brought this product last month, it is built very well, nice and quiet, easy to use no worries about the mixer falling over when unloading. Bad points, paddles in the mixer could be wider to decrease mixing times, working in high heat the mixer will shutdown after a few continuous hours of use. Instructions aren’t the easiest to follow. Great for the price though.

Great quality
I bought this based on good reviews by trades people and was not disappointed. It was well packed and easy to assemble. Looked at cheaper ones but reviews said they had to to bend this to make them fit. There is nothing bendable on this machine. It has a smaller motor than the more expensive brand of the same style but I had it fully loaded and it coped without hesitation.
