- Vacuum your rug using a low-powered vaccum cleaner. Do not pull any loose threads, use scissors to cut. Do not dry clean, occasional cleaning from a professional rug cleaning company is recommended. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage/fade your rug and backing. Do not fold your rug, store by rolling it front side out and wrapping it in polybag/cloth for protection. Use of a rug pad is recommended
