Routine
I purchased this light shade but have not fitted it yet. I wanted two shades with the the same colour in adjacent rooms.

Ideal for a small area needing good light
I bought this product last month and have rated it 4 star because of the lack of assembly instructions. However in use I rather like the design and really appreciate the excellent diffusion of light with the absence of glare an unwanted feature of many other shades often costing premium prices but designed without care or thought for shading glare!

Faulty product.
Bought a couple of weeks ago. it was missing a part so could not use. now I'll have to take back and try and get a refund which is really not convenient for me.

Roll the dice and it may end up looking nice!
The main issue is common to both Raqis shades and that is the installation. The frame essentially hooks into four wire loops; two at the bottom and two at the top. You align the bottom and then stretch the shade to hook the frame on to the top loops (or vice-versa). However the problem is that you need to stretch the shade a little more than its size to lock the frame into the loops. This can result in the frame slipping from the loop and tearing the shade or even you tearing the shade with your finger(s). All this while keeping the light fitting out of the way but still in the shade itself. (In hindsight it may be easier to set up the shade first, then hang it!). Regardless in hanging two Raqis shades (a big and small one), one has a small hole caused by the frame slipping in installation and the other caused by a tear in stretching the shade over the frame. As this is a paper product, I feel you essentially have a lottery in whether you will end up installing your shade with no damage or small tears. Caveat emptor! This said once installed, and if other people don't know about the tear, they will probably think it looks nice a modern. However you will know where the hole is and if you point it out, your reputation as a functioning member of society may plummet. To the perfectionists out there, you may also be kept up at night by the fact that the hanging mechnism requires you to bend the wire to the bulb; it does not hang off the bulb fixture. The bend in the wire means that the shade never hangs fully down and the wire will have a kink in it. This makes it difficult to hang the shade "level" as it will always tilt slightly and also the wire will not appear as going vertically straight down into the shade; you will see a slight bend as it needs to curve around the fixture hook. Depending on the stiffness of the wire, you may also have a challenge in getting the bulb exactly in the center of the shade. You could easily spend a few hours adjusting the shade you exact requirements!

Paper breaks far too easy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I managed to break the paper whilst setting it up as the paper is so thin, luckily it was at the top so I carried on building it. When it’s up it really does darken a room as it blocks a lot of the light.

Simple and does the job

Great shade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed a new shade for the landing and thought I would give this one a try. Little bit messing around putting it together as it does not come complete and having to be very carefull not to tear the paper shade. but overall very pleased. Spreads the light well without causing and glare at all it does exactly what I want and looks very nice too.
