MSR-1200 - You get what you pay for !!!

Bought solely to mount under router table (with NVR) due to 153mm base plate, easy to follow instructions for newbies to the hobby .. powerful motor, capable of running straight cutters, and profile cutters but … Sadly, whilst using larger cutters (rail and stile) the collet has a tendency to slip, ruining several pieces. - further tightening of collet results in damage to spindle lock. On the whole… a decent lightweight machine good for hobbyist …… but watch that collet !!!

This product is great value for money

I brought this as it was a reasonable price and as I'm just a hobbyist didn't want to pay out big bucks for one, but I have been very impressed with it. it is robust and does exactly what its meant to and as far as i can tell its as good as the much higher priced ones

Brill for clocks making

This router is amazing at woodwork it is good at making circles for clocks and making numbers and it is good at making a gap for the motor to slot in nice and neatly .

It works, but it's cumbersome and cheaply made

It's true that you get what you pay for, and this is no exception. I bought it some time ago for a specific job, which it did successfully. Fast forward a year or so, and I've become a woodworking hobbyist. Now, I find it to be cumbersome and difficult to handle at times. I've also discovered that it's not really suitable to be mounted to a router table, which is a shame - but when I bought it, that wasn't my intention anyway. I've also found that any bit I put in the collet, jams in there pretty tight and can be tough to remove. My advice is if you can afford/justify the cost of a better one, do that. And research it first too!

A eviter

Perfect router for the amateur DIY user

Bought this as needed a router for a DIY Christmas project I had in mind. Although torn between my normal Bosch brand and this one, I couldn’t justify the extra money and went with this one. It did the job I needed perfectly and with no issues. As a tool it does what it says on the tin. That being said the only niggles I have with it are the depth gauge which for micro adjustments is just a sticker which can easily go wrong or come off, and the plunge feature needs more effort than some others on the market. For a cheap, quick and easy to use tool for a DIY person this is ideal, but for regular or more sustained use I would look to pay the extra for a better one.

Does the job

Bought this for a few minor jobs and it worked just fine for me but it wouldn’t work too hard if pushed to its limits, for the money it’s fine. Nice to have a dust extractor fitted and a must to put a vacuum nozzle on it when using router.
