This Mac Allister Solo 18V cordless random orbit sander makes light work of home improvement tasks for ultimate flexibility. Ideal for cordless sanding and polishing of flat or curved surfaces and for working on wood, plaster, painted, varnished and polished surfaces. Features hook and loop quick fit sanding sheets, 6 speed settings and dust extraction port to attach to a vacuum. Includes bare tool only; batteries and chargers sold separately.

Stopped
Stopped working after a few days of use. Tried 2 different batteries, both charged and work fine with my impact driver, but sander will not work. Dust bag emptied, still not working

Good for use on fixed workpieces
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The optional dust collection bag is nice to include but I’d definitely recommend attaching a dust extractor and using full face mask when using this as sanding especially on mdf, youcannot control where the dust goes. This is hard to compare the power to other sanders as the power rating depends on the battery size you use with it and is not specified in the manual anywhere, seems useful when a cable or extraction hose might get in the way however -we used random orbit sanding on our wooden stairs in the house, trust me a cable gets very annoying after a while with a fixed work piece. Has a nice hook loop attaching sanding pad in easy size to replace and an adjustable revolution wheel which is good. Great that is comes with a two year warranty also. Unfortunately the batteries are quite expensive to pair with this and are not generic, can only be bought from one supplier and so limits how useful this would be as part of a set if you don’t already have the matching tools ect.

Handy cordless tool

Good kit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially I didn’t pay attention that it was a bare unit however I had a battery to fit. Thankfully the whole Mac Allister brand can share the battery. It’s easy to assemble and on first try felt it was super powerful despite being cordless. I tried it on an area I needed sanded and it was so quick. A few passes and was instantly smooth. Highly recommend. I will be buying their other products.

Handy little tool

Small but powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a powerful little sander! It is comfortable to hold and gets the job done perfectly. I used it to smooth my floor before staining and it took all of the rough bits away and left the perfect surface for staining the wood. It doesn’t come with a battery pack, so be aware of this- otherwise it works great. The dust bad is handy and actually works leaving minimal clean up.

Great value for money
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great sander I’ve just checked out. It’s just wonderful, very powerful, but quite light. Easy to handle as it’s very ergonomic. Battery life is very long so no need to charge in between sanding.

Easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did not come with charger so purchased this separately. Has done a perfect job at sanding down a childs bed frame with a smooth finish. Easy to use and good movement.

Handy little thing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great little sander its small but very powerful. I used it to smooth the plaster wall after the wallpaper was taken down. Done the job very quickly and smoothly. Has a dust collecting box which is very easy to remove and empty. You need to buy battery seperately, but it lasted me for the duration of whole project laber.

Great tool
