This drill serves its purpose for light tasks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Mac Allister MRH18-Li SDS drill bare unit is a practical choice for occasional DIY enthusiasts. If you already own a compatible battery and charger, this drill can handle light tasks around the house. For serious DIY projects or professional work, I recommend exploring other options beyond the Mac Allister. While it’s reasonably priced, consider investing slightly more in a premium brand for better overall quality and longevity. Keep in mind that Mac Allister has changed battery compatibility before. If you’re building a tool collection, consider a brand with a more stable ecosystem. The non-brushless motor with non-replaceable carbon brushes means it’ll wear out faster than brushless models. Additionally, it’s less efficient and noisier compared to brushless motors. In summary, the Mac Allister MRH18-Li SDS drill serves its purpose for light tasks, but spending a bit more on a premium brand might be a wise investment.

Handy addition to my tool kit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the drill whilst doing up my garden getting ready for summer. At first use the item easily drilled 8mm holes into wood and brick. I had prior tried to do so with my existing cordless drill but that didn’t make a mark, may be due to it being old and not powerful enough. The drill itself isn’t too heavy which makes it ideal for small tasks but for larger projects it might be cause pain from using. The actual build of the drill is good quality however the plastic parts do not seem too robust and a tad flimsy, so longevity is in question but will only be found out over use and time. The product is very versatile as it has four functions: Chisel, drill, hammer and chisel fixing and comes with multiple speeds function. The battery which I purchased separately previously for my other Mac Allister tools is decent for small jobs but would need to recharged if doing larger projects. I found the battery to last around an hour which is perfect for small tasks like drilling a whole or putting up rails or shelves. Overall very happy with this addition to my tool kit.

Powerful drill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used to fit wooden battens to walls. So far it has easily drilled 8mm holes in blocks, bricks, concrete lintel and stone. A normal hammer drill didn't leave a mark on the stone. If drilling a large number of holes in a day you would probably need a spare battery. Safety for use. Very recommend

Overall good stable drill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The drill is very heavy so it's quite painful to use it for a longer amount of time. For the small jobs like drilling the holes for putting the blinds up it's brilliant and because of its weight drill is more stable. The blue plastic elements seem to be lower quality so I don't know how they will wear and tear after a few months of usage but overall good drill.

Excellent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing drill, really easy to use, not to heavy and makes jobs easy. Has enough power to do the jobs such as drilling holes in walls. Battery was reasonably priced and lasts well. Great safety features also. Would definitely recommend

Very lightweight for an SDS!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Such a lightweight drill, was unsure if this was going to be a good or bad thing at first. Have 2 corded ones already but wasnt sure what to think of the performance power of a cordless one (when things go cordless theyre never quite as powerful ive found) but its surprised me. Battery life is ok and the additional handle is a good support/safety feature. Over all , very happy with this product.

Great all round drill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and performance of this cordless SDS drill. It’s was easy to use and the versatility of it for completing the diy jobs around the house was great. I managed to use this for several jobs including drilling into the brick work on the outside of my house. The best part about this drill is that it’s cordless. Most of the SDS drills I’ve used in the past have been corded which limits you to the reach. This has no limit. The only downside that I found was that the unit is quite heavy. This has been thought about and overcome though by suppling you with a detachable holding arm. I already have a few of these product from my other diy projects so I had the battery packs already. These are great that you don’t need different ones for different tools and can be used with all the range. Great tool and great range

Just the tool you need gor DIY projexts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very impressed with this cordless drill I have been using it around the house for mini DIY projects and it has proven to be very useful tool. The battery life is good and the drill is powerful. It can be used as drill, hammer and screwdriver which is what you need when doing DIY projects around the house. I have easily put up the towel holder in the bathroom. The only downside is that the charger didn’t come with it and has to be brought separately. But if you have other tools in the same brand the same charger can be used for this drill.

Handles lots of jobs around the house

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This SDS cordless drill features four modes including drill, hammer and drill, chisel and chisel fixing. Making it multi functional and handy with different jobs. It does not come with a battery included in this pack so need to buy it separately. However the same battery can be charged user for many of the other Mac Allister tools which is helpful. This has variable speeds and also has a red light to show when it is on. The drill itself is quite heavy so bear that in mind when purchasing. It is strong and durable and a great drill for all diy enthusiasts. It is quite powerful and really gets the job done in super quick time efficiently.
