Just bought this morning and it has a terrible smell of manure. Not used to compost smelling this bad. I just hope smell will fade over time.

On discovering the previous verve rose shrub compost which I have used extensively and reviewed most favourably was on closer inspevction peat based , this new recipe came as a welcome surprise. However, It is very light and fluffy and frankly looks like the contents of a hoover bag. It seems to be shredded paper a bit of sand and a slight smell of manure. The bags are very light. Shall give it a few months and report back as have just potted up half a dozen standards in it and am about to pot on a few dozen rose cuttings.
