Great package, good value for money. I added a few extras like CCTV and famine alarms

Nearly 100% perfect.....
Great system and very easy to install and set up, however, there are a few things that I am critical with. 1. Key pad lights up around the edge of the buttons which when lit at night renders the numbers impossible to see clearly if at all. This could be improved by having the numbers themselves actually backlit or transparent so the light flows through them to enable visibility in the dark. 2. The instructions say to place the main hub out of view. If, such as in my case, the hub is situated away from the entry/exit point. ( I have just the key pad in our downstairs hallway). Then unless you look at your phone app then there is no way to visually see that the alarm is set/unset. This has resulted in a few false alarms for myself and family. 3. Internal sirens are great for easy placement and adding in additional ones, however, they state that they go up to 85 dB which without measuring doesn't seem loud enough. The smoke alarms are set at 85 dB and the internal sirens do not compare in volume even when set at the highest level. Apart from those 3 niggles, I am very happy with the system and the individual components overall.

new premium smart alarm system
The premium kit catered for our needs as a home security system. We previously had the older version and moving to a new property, it was time to upgrade. We did have an issue with the alarm hub where it failed to update the firmware, this was resolved with the Yale support team. Overall impressed with this alarm system

Yale not that SMART Alarm Premium Price
For a ‘smart alarm’ this leaves a lot to be desired. 1). There is no way of knowing which state the alarm is in unless you’re using the app and believe me, you cannot always rely on the app to do that right. It’s a real issue in a house occupied by more than one person, particularly if you have children and your alarm is part-set overnight. Even the Sync Hub had status LED’s. 2). It is impossible to set the alarm with the front door ajar. Again, if you have a partner/children this is a problem: they must leave the house and close the door to allow you to set the alarm before you leave. 3). The mains powered siren that becomes illuminated during dark winter nights is supposed to act as a deterrent. Good idea but pointless application. It’s only ever/always on between 18:00 and 06:00. In mid-winter it is completely dark for at least four hours outside that timeframe so the siren is in darkness. It is illuminated for many more hours during daylight hours come the summer. Of course, you can switch that option off if you wish but why was a light sensor not used when they cost next to nothing to implement? 4). Illuminated keypads that cannot be read in the dark are pointless. The characters are printed on solid plastic buttons. Alarm manufacturers have been using opaque buttons to fix this problem for decades. Do not waste your money on those, you will not find those convenient in the dark. 5). It is not the most important thing in an alarm but the speaker in the hub has all the audio quality of an old gramophone. 6). Good luck finding any decent support documentation on any of the Smart products. There are way fewer than there are for the Sync alarm. 7). About the Yale Home app: If I can use it successfully to set the alarm on my first attempt, once a week, I am having a good week. According to the support desk, I am experiencing an issue that nobody else is so, it must be my network. My network where many other connected devices, (including the Sync Alarm), have no issues. I have explained this to a few people via the Yale support desk and the last advice I had was to contact Virgin. Feels like they chose the easiest way to give up and get rid of me to be honest. Let me explain why I need the app to work. I use a Conexis lock on my home entrance. Using the same app I should be able to unlock the door which in turn should disarm the alarm. Quite often that fails to work and I enter my home only for the alarm to go off. This is where a better hub speaker and LED status light would be beneficial. At least I would some idea that the alarm was still armed or is about to go off. What I was hoping for, and should be able to do, is open my front door remotely. In turn this would disable the alarm, allow someone drop a parcel in my porch, close the door behind them and let me set the alarm again. I am not reliably able to do any of that. My advice? There are far better, more reliable alarms for the money and more reliable ways to achieve what I was hoping to. Do your research.

Not bad, hoping they improve it with firmware
I bought this after a great experience with the Yale Easy-Fit series, its ok and i can see a lot of possitives but its not been plain sailing. The app feels a little weirdly laid out but you get used to it quickly. The product feels under tested to say the least, there are lots of issues ive had which have been tedious to fix. First issue is the tamper alarm, things seem to trigger for no reason and the only way to clear them is either disable the feature (not recommended) or re-seat the device... which is a pain if its the siren up high! The sensors they use of the tamper alarm are clearly not good. Biggest issue i have with this alarm is the silly fancy tone they use for arming and disarming. Like most house designs, my alarm hub is under the stairs i.e. tucked away. In stead of a loud beep like the Easy Fit Yale have opted for a soft tone which is bearly audiable in a security cupboard or if you are old/hard of hearing. Please dev's add the option to change the tone - you can be creative if you like and add the Jaw's shark piece, just make sure you add the original loud beep of the Easy Fit Series!

Yale Smart Alarm Excellent product.
Excellent product, arrived very securely packaged. instructions were a little ambiguous but looking on the video tutorials covered the parts I was uncertain about. All items linked to the hub and the system was fully functional in about 2 hours from opening the box.

Easy to set up and install.
Easy to set up and install, it arrived quickly and took about an hour to set up. Thankfully it hasn't been tested but the room detectors quickly detect our movement and don't detect our cat at all. We've got a detector in our garage too, and it connects perfectly.

Tamper alarm always on, subscription does not work

Great Alarm system and app configurability
Great kit and alarm system. App is good Kit should have atleast 1 pre-break-in sensors instead of contact sensor

Poor quality but does the job
Great in principal, works with Alexa commends to arm the alarm when leaving the house but the quality of some of the sensors is shocking. There is no easy way to remove the back cover to setup each device initially, and when you do finally find a teeny tiny flat screwdriver at the back of your kitchen drawer you come to realise that even this doesn’t work. One of the door sensors was faulty and wouldn’t connect to the system so had to be returned and replaced. The motion sensors stick to the corners of the room but in the middle of the night we hear a crashing sound and they’ve fallen off onto the floor because the sticky pads won’t secure them, so now we have to start drilling holes to fix them to the wall which we don’t want to do. The app is quite basic but at the same time you need to delve deep into menus to change settings which doesn’t feel very user friendly. Also, it would be great to have the option to quickly turn the alarm off when at home and someone knocks on the front door. Currently you either remove the front door sensor from the home arming zone which means you can be asleep and someone opens the front door and you wouldn’t know even with the alarm on, or you leave the front door part of the home arm zone and when someone knocks the door you frantically try to open the app, or type your code into the keypad, or find your key fob to turn off the alarm. Really promising initially but disappointed with the quality. Also, we bought this kit, a bunch of extra sensors and a Yale door handle and have yet to install the outdoor sirens or the door handle due to the fact Yale now want two separate installation bookings for around £250 each! Bear in mind that the door lock works with HomeKit and Siri but the alarm does not.
