Tap glands
Tap glands, more commonly known as tap valves, control the flow of water through a tap. They’re an ideal solution for dripping taps or when parts fail, as replacement is quick and creates less waste than changing the whole unit. Conventional models work on the same principle as globe valves, which allow pressurised water to flow when its turned. Ceramic cartridges are increasingly used as an alternative in newer taps, with metal parts replaced with rotating ceramic discs that move more smoothly.
